Gatsby Essay

     In the Great Gatsby they use a tone towards happiness. Like the narrator moving to another place and leaves his family business to do something else elsewhere maybe because he wasn’t happy there. Also how people thought Gatsby was this big thing because he was rich this and that but they don’t know how he really is as a person. All this rich people have it all but aren’t happy in life.

     The narrator leaving his home and his family’s business shows that maybe he wasn’t happy there and left to find a better life in the U.S. It must of been a hard decision to leave because it’s a family business not just a normal job. But it came out the same he was chasing happiness and came across with miserable people around him. Maybe what he needs to do is find great people so he can find happiness.

     A lot of people would say Gatsby was this rich guy had it all. Really he wasn’t happy he did all these parties to change the past between him and Daisy. He did everything to make daisy happy he even kept her bad secrets like her killing someone. Like make yourself happy before making someone else happy. But all that lead to him being killed just because he wanted this girl.

      All the rich people in the book has everything people wish to have cars mansion money everything. Yet they were so miserable they might have all the money they weren’t happy. Like they say money doesn’t buy happiness. Then being with other miserable people makes them miserable so not all rich people are happy. Even though they don’t have problems with money they aren’t happy in life.

      All that are the tones Fitzgerald uses for happiness. He’s tryna let everyone know that the rich people aren’t always the happiest people or people to be around with. They might be successful but they’re humans as well they do bad things as well.
